1964-03-21 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES--The City of Pearland Council met in special session on Saturday, March 21, 1964, at 1:00 P. M. at the City Hall with the following councilmen and guests present. Councilmen: John Kegley - Victor A. Nolen - Gene E. Sanders - David L. Smith, Jr. - Thomas P. Alexander and Mayor E. T. Gibbons. Guests: William C. Walsh, City Engineer - W. A. McClellan - Office Manager - D. N. Eddleman, Fiscal Agent - P. L. Marquess, Tax Valuation and Appraisal Engineer - Tax Roll Work and John Waling. For the first order of business Mayor Gibbons stated that Mr. Marquess had completed a temporary tax roll of all property with- in the City Limits and then requested Mr. Marquess and Mr. Eddlemgn to give an outline of steps- to be taken in order to issue time Warrants for funds needed immediately for construction of several projects. Their consensus of opinion follows: 1. Tax Assessor -Collector to Certify the preliminary Tax Roll on April 1, 1964- 2. Engineer to present plans and estimates for water wells, water plant and -lines, sewer plant and lines, garbage dump and purchases of land. required for same. 3. Submit Estimates to Fiscal Agentfs Attorneys. 4. Advertising: Time warrants can be issued by advertising intentions in a general circulation newspaper for 2 weeks, ad must be on the same day for each week. 5. May lst. Appoint an equalization board.
