1967-09-26 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES7 7 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, CITY COUNCIL HELD ON SEPTEMBER 26, 1967, AT 7:30 P. M. IN THE CITY HALL A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Gene E. Sanders with the following present: Mayor. Pro Tem Councilman Councilman Councilman City Secretary Absent: Councilman Mayor Gene E. Sanders B. J. Courtright Dale Watson E. A. Wasek W. A. McClellan Aubrey G. Ellis Lloyd C. Hawkins Visitors: William C. Walsh, David L. Smith, Mrs. Lee Plyler, Lee Plyler, Frances Jamison, Sidney I. Barfield. Mayor Pro Tem Sanders opened the meeting and stated that the purpose was to discuss the City Secretary's report and accounting of bond funds and such other matters that might properly be brought before the Council. David L. Smith appeared before the Council on behalf of Michael Proto to request a building permit for a lot on the south' -side of Nottingham Drive. Following due discussion a motion was made by Councilman Watson, seconded by Councilman Sanders that the Secretary be authorized by the present City Council.'to issue a building permit to a Michael Proto for a lot on the south side of Nottingham Drive. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion failed-'; with Councilmen Watson and Sanders voting "aye" and Councilmen Courtright and Wasek voting "no." Tie vote and the motion did not carry. A motion was made by Councilman Courtright thatthe Secretary issue a building permit to Michael Proto, but no sewer tie-in to be made until such time as the lack of an approved subdivision plat be explored. Motion died for lack of a second. A motion was made by Councilman Courtright, seconded by Councilman Watson that the Council approve and sign the replat linen copy of the Corrigan Subdivision, with the understanding that approved copies of the plans and specifications of the water lines, sanitary sewer lines, storm sewer linedand streets will be immediately furnished to the City., if not now on file. 'WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Watson, seconded by Councilman Courtright that the Secretary be authorized by the-present'City"Council to issue a building permit to Michael Proto on his lot located on the south side of Nottingham Drive. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, Councilmen Watson, Sanders and Courtright voting "aye" and Councilman Wasek voting "no." A study was made of the Secretary's report and accounting of the bond funds. Secretary requested to contact City Attorney Galli regarding the possibility of passing an ordinance that would govern pipelines and pipeline products r that pass through our area. A motion was made by Councilman Courtright, seconded by Councilman Watson that the meeting adjourn. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" with no "noes." Motion carried at 10:15 P. M.
