1967-06-13 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, CITY COUNCIL HELD ON JUNE 13, 196`7, AT 7: 30 P. M. IN THE PE ARLAND CITY HALL - A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Sanders with the following present: Mayor Pro Tem gene E. Sanders Councilman E. A. Wasek Councilman Dale Watson Councilman -Aubrey Ellis City Attorney Cesare J. Galli, Jr. Absent: Mayor Lloyd C. Hawkins Councilman B. J. Courtright Visitors: D. R. Keller, B. M. Jamison, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Schupp,.. Sidney I, Barfield, Basil L. Cogbill, Alma Barnes Snyder,"Jake-Jamison, Mrs. Jake Jamison, Mrs. Gene Wasek, Lee Plyler and Wayne Holder, -Attorney. The meeting began at 7:30 P. M. with Mayor Pro Tem Sanders presiding in the absence of Mayor Hawkins. Mayor Pro Tem Sanders stated that the purpose of the meeting was to meet with the B. M. Jamisons and for other business that might come before the Council. A motion was made by Councilman Ellis, seconded by Councilman Wasek that the City pay the check to Landsdowne and Moody for tractor repairs, Check No. 2439 for $202.66. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Wasek that Check No. 24.75 to Walsh Engineering be paid by the City of Pearland, seconded by Councilman Ellis Voting "ayes' - Councilman Ellis and Councilman Wasek. Voting "no," - Councilman Watson. Abstaining - Councilman Sanders. "Ayes" being in majority motion carried. �t t fore the meeting was a discussion over a proposed or A Dusting Company in regards to a proposal to spray or dust bete the 8400 and 8900 block on East Broadway. A motion made by Councilman Wasek that City accept resolution as proposed by AA Dusting Company to go to the FAA for a rulin providing the AA dusting Co pang supply insurance, secon e by Councilman a Tson. Certificate in the amount of $300,000.00 to , Pearland. Voting "aye" Councilman Watson, uncilman Wasek ,and Councilman Ellis. Voting "no" - Councilman Sanders. "Ayes" being in majority motion carried. Jamison's spokesman Wayne Holder. Cesare Galli Article 973; this is designator under no deannexation with bonds out against it. r._ Mayor Pro Tem Sanders requested a 15 minute recess (8:38 P. M.) to confer with City Attorney. M. to A motion was made by Councilman Ellis that under Article No. 970A \Section 10, taking the whole section in course that the four petitions for four tracts be rejected, seconded by Councilman Watson. All voted "aye Wayne Holder, Box 781, Freeport that the petition as submitted and 81 , dated 9th of May become registered into the City of Pearland records. Wayne Holder requested answer at Council meeting of June 22nd. Motion made by Councilman Wasek that the meeting adjourn, seconded by Councilman Ellis.
