1967-01-26 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTESMINES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITf 0F PEARLAND, TEXAS, CITY COUNCIL HELD ON JANUARY 26, 1967, AT 7:30 P. M. Barringer~ A motion was made by Councilman CalVin, seconded~'by CoUncilman Wasek that minutes of the regular Council meeting held oneJanuary 12,. 1967 be approved. WHEREUPON, the question was asked andsthe motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" with no "noes.". Councilman Nolen and Councilman Ellis a~sent at this time. A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that payroll checks and invoice checks as per list dated January 26, 1967 be approved. WHEREUPON, the question was asked andsthe motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" with no "noes." Councilman Nolen and Councilman Ellis absent at this time. A discussion was held regarding an amendment tothe Subdivision-Ordinance, after which Councilman Nolen made a motion, seconded by Councilman Ellis that the maximum depth of road ditch for 60' ROW -'/2.5'~-. maximum d~pth of road ditch for'80' ROW - 3.0' - maximum depth of.~roa~ditch for~100' ROW - 3.0!. Storm sewers shall be provided by the developer for all road or street entrances to the proposed development and all ~rainage right- of-way crossings within the proposed development. The storm-sewers to comply with the subdivision ordinance. WHEREUPON, the qUeStion was' asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted" " " " aye with no noes. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman CalVin that the Mayor be authorized to execute a Quit-Claim Deed for an old right-of-way dedication that has been replatted by reason of Linwood Section 2. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motionl. carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Wasek that ORDINANCE N0. 132 .- AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND RE-CREATINGpOSITIONS, SUCH ~SI~IONS AND CLASSIFICATIONS TO BE THAT OF THE...CITy RECORDER .... OR CORPORATION COURT~.JUDGE, AS~SET 0UT~ IN~ARTICLE. 1!96,~VERNON'S CIVIL STATUTES; PORVIDING THAT MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL SHALL DETERMINE THE EXACT AMOUNT OF SALARY WHICH SHALL BE PAID TO THE HOLDER OF SUCH POSITION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 7, 1960; AND DECLARING AND EMERGENCY, ~e adopted. WHEREUPON, the questio~ was~asked~andthe.~ motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no 'noes." ~, Amotion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Calvin that City Secretary, City Attorney and Chief-of-Police prepare bids and specifications for a new police car. WEEUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes" Mayor Hawkins stated that there would be a called meeting of the City Council to meet with the Building Committee and City Engineer on Thursday Night, February 2, 1967 at 7:30 P. M. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Wasek that invoice from William C. Walsh, Consulting Engineer, for engineering Regal Oaks through January 15, 1967 in the amount ~2 approved and that Check No. 151 be signed to cover this amount. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that the motion passed on January 12, 1967 authorizing the City Secretary to advertise for bids for 100 or more water meters be deferred until the supply· is more depleted. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." Mr. Wayne Holder, Attorney, representing Mr. & Mrs. B. M. Jamison, Mrs. Alma Barnes, Mr. & Mrs. Lee Plylet and Sidney I. Barfield presented petitions requesting de-annexation to the City Council for consideration. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Wasek that the meeting adjourn. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the "a e" motion carried, all Councilmen voted y with no "noes."
