1966-12-19 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES12t 'MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND. TEXAS. CITY COUNCIL HELD ON DECEMBER 19, 1966, AT 7:30 P. M. IN THE CITY HALL A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order by Mayor Hawkins in the City Hall with the following present: Mayor Lloyd C. Hawkins Councilman E. A-. Wasek j Councilman Basil L. Cogbill Councilman Victor A. Nolen Councilman Aubrey Ellis Councilman Joe Dan Calvin City Superintendent Escue V. Harris Visitor: Ed R. Spradley The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting'was to discuss Linwood Subdivision and department problems. A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that the Chief -of -Police be given responsibility for the warrant division. Originals of the warrants will be maintained by the Judge and copies will be furnished to the Chief -of -Police. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Nolen that the maximum for "Failure to Appear-,," on the traffic tickets be increased to $7.50 and "Warrant Fees' be reduced to $7.50. WHEREUPON, the question.was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." �. Aymotion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Cogbill" that the City grade Plum Street from Old Alvin Road to the east side k of Section II of Linwood Subdivision and the street be shelled east �n pastthe west entrance of Briar Circle to enable residentsgg__,,;;�� ' Sectio t \ II Linwood, this being a hardship and the drain he andRAIL'"o shell .to be furnished by Subdivider. This motion to be held in a.b-.pyance �w until subdivider advises availability of drain tile. Subdividers part of shellcostto be placed in escrow before work commences on shelling. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Council- men voted "aye" with no "noes."' A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, secoAgawtreet, ouncilman Cogbill n that a 10' road easement for the north side Section III Linwood Subdivision be accepted by the City of Pearland and filed for record. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, with Councilmen Calvin, Wasek, Cogbill and Ellis voting "aye" and Councilman Nolen voting "no." A motion was made by Councilman Cogbill, seconded by Councilman Calvin that the 10t road easement on the south side of Plum Street from Old Alvin Road extending east some 1904.' be accepted from Mr. S. G. Lipic and filed for record. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the .. motion carried, with Councilmen Ellis, Cogbill, Calvin and Wasek voing "aye" and Councilman Nolen voting "no." A motion was made by Councilman Ellis, seconded by Councilman Calvin that the Church of Christ be granted permission to shell and apply rolled hotmix�asphalt topping for parking area on esplanade of`Grand Boulevard �--;= in front -of the church. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that the meeting adjourn.
