CITY OF PEARLAND,

COUNCIL HELD
ON
NOVEMBER 30, 1966,
AT
7:30 P. M. IN THE
CITY HALL.
A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order by
Mayor Hawkins with the following present:

Mayor Hawkins stated that the purpose
garbage problems with City Officials
of the meeting was. to discuss
of Manvel and Brookside Village.
A lengthy discussion evolved on who would be -responsible for the garbage
dump,the fees and- ommittee responsibilities -to operate a common garbage
dumpfor the North end of Brazoria County.
It was generally agreed by all city officials that Pearland should,
operate tYie dump. A committee should operate jointly to resolve the'
problems.
Each Mayor was requested to place two Councilmen on the joint committee
and proceed with long range plans for garbage disposal.
Chester Roches injury was discussed and it was agreed that additional
revenue should be provided by the -City under the terms of his contract.
A motion was ,made by Councilman Cogbill, seconded by Councilman
Calvin that the contract with Chester Roch be amended as 'of December
I, 1966, to provide for an ,increase to ,$l0O 'O0, per month `'with '
remaining terms of contract unchanged;, All to be subject to revision
and approval of the =City Attorney. WHEREUPON, ,the question was `asked
motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "ayett with no "noes."
A motion was made by Councilman Cogbill, seconded by Councilman Nolen
that twelve STOP signs and metal poles be purchased. WHEREUPON.,
the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen present
voted "aye" with no "noes."
A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Calvin
that the raises for city employees budgeted in the 1966-1967 Budget
be approved effective December 1, 1966. This covers all employees
except City Officials, City Judge, Inspectors and new police officers
that are under initial 90 day probation period. WHEREUPON, the question
was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye"
with no -"noes."
A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Wasek
that the meeting adjourn. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the
motion carried, all Councilman present voted "aye" with no "noes."
