1966-09-26 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESof MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS CITY COUNCIL, HELD ON SEPTEMBER 26, 1966, AT ?:30 P. M. IN THE CITY HALL A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order by Mayor Hawkins with the following present: Mayor Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman City Secretary Absent Councilman Visitors: Lloyd C. Hawkins Aubrey G. Ellis E. A. Wasek Basil L. Cogbill Victor A. Nolen W. A. McClellan Joe Dan Calvin Billy Edgar Griffin and Donald Halik the ;purpose of the meeting wai,, t,o discuss and any other business that might -be brought Mayor Hawkins stated that the garbage dump problems before the Council. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Wasek that ORDINANCE N0. 55A - AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE CHARGES FOR USE OF THE GARBAGE DUMP'AND FACILITIES OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 55: SETTING THE FEE TO BE CHARGED TO EACH CUSTOMER BEING SERVED BY THE GARBAGE CONTRACTOR OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND: AUTHORIZING SAID CONTRACTOR TO MAKE COLLECTION ON BEHALF OF THE; CITY AND PROVIDING PROCEDURES AND PRICES FOR DIFFERENT TYPE VEHICLES AND LOADS USING SAID GARBAGE DUMP AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, be adopted. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" with no "noes." Councilman Calvin absent. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that two signs be ordered for the garbage dump as follows: g g g P (one) 4 ft.. by 8 ft. Marine Plywood with yellow background and black lettering. PEARLAND CITY DUMP NO DUMPING.WITHOUT TICKETS OBTAIN DUMP TICKETS FROM CITY HALL PEARLAND 8 to 5 DAILY NO SALVAGING - NO FIREARMS DUMPING HOURS 8 A. M. to 5 P. M. DAILY One to be small: S T 0 P ALL DUMPERS MUST'HAVE A TICKET WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Council- men present voted "aye" with no "noes." Councilman Calvin absent. A motion was made by Councilman Ellis, seconded by Councilman Nolen ,--. that the Secretary order tickets printed for each classification as follows: i A - Passenger Cars (Pink) B - Pick-ups and two wheel trailers (Blue) C - Flat bed trucks (Green) D - Dump trucks (Yellow) E - Float or semi -trailers (Gray) WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Council- men present voted "aye" with no "noes." Councilman Calvin absent. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Wasek that the month of October be officially proclaimed as "United Fund Month." WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" with no "noes." Councilman Calvin absent. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that the meeting adjourn.
