MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON JUNE 30, 1966, AT 7:30 P. M.
A special meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor
Pro Tem Victor A. Nolen at 7:30 P. M. in the City Hall with the following
present.

Mayor Pro Tem Nolen stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss
street and bridge projects confronting Public Work's Director, Police
Department vacation relief and holiday coverage.
A motion was made by Councilman Cogbill, seconded by Councilman Calvin
for the City Secretary to write a letter to Dalsco, Inc. stating
that the City Engineer inspected Sherwood Addition and found the
following:
"The concrete pavement is sound and without defects. Numerous
small sections of the concrete curb are broken up and several
large sections of the concrete curb are broken up or missing."
They are to be advised that these corrections will have to be made
before the City completes final inspection and releases the maintenance
bond. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried,
all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."
Council instructed Councilman Calvin to contact County Engineer
and Commissioner's Court to determine County specifications for shell
roads in the year 1959.
A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Cogbill
that the City read water meters every two months and estimate every
other month. The office personnel to estimate water bill. WHEREUPON,
the question was asked and th'e motion carried, all Councilmen voted
"aye" with no "noes."
A motion was made by Councilman Cogbill, seconded by Councilman Nolen
that the City employ Ken Hutcherson temporarily for vacation relief for
the Police Department on a pro rata salary basis of $100.00 per month.
WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Council-
men voted "aye" with no "noes."
A motion was made by Councilman Cogbill, seconded by Councilman Nolen
that the City Secretary be authorized to make disbursement for insurance
on police cars. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion
carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."
A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Calvin
that the meeting adjourn. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the
motion carried, -all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes.ti
