A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order by Mayor

PURPOSE OF.THE MEETING:
1. Discussion of sewer force main down Old Alvin Road right of way.
2. Awarding of bid on shop building.
3. Discussion of water line from Corrigan Subdivision to Colony Park
Subdivision.
SEWER FORCE MAIN DOWN OLD ALVIN ROAD RIGHT OF WAY:
A`disaussion was held with representatives of property owners and/or property
owners present who own property abutting on the Old Alvin Road Right of
Way ;from Orange Street to Knapp Road. Mayor Pro Tempore Sanders explained
the proposed plans of the City were to lay a force main down the right of
way to serve Twin Creek/Clear Creek Estates with sewer service. He
explained that this method would save money and would enable the City
to complete this service. Otherwise, the cost of building a new sewer
plant would likely be more than funds available. Property owners

and/or their representative to contact the City Attorney regarding --
questions on the right of way.
PROCLAMATION - CLARENCE SASSER DAY - MARCH 27, 1969:
Mayor Pro Tempore Sanders stated that Mayor Keller requested that he

read a Proclamation declaring March 27, 1969, as Sassar Day in Pearland,
Mayor Pro Tempore Sanders explained that this Proclamation was issued
to Clarence Sasser for his acts of gallantry and intrepidity in face
of the enemy in Viet Nam. Specialist 5th Class Sasser has been awarded
the Congressional Medal of Honor.
AWARDING OF BID ON SHOP BUILING:
It was moved by Councilman Courtright, seconded by Councilman Wasek that
the Cinco Building Corporation be awarded the bid on a shop building
to be attached to the Central Fire Station in an L-shaped configuration.
The size of the building to be 102151 by 4013" as quoted on Cinco's
quotation Number B-203 dated March 5, 1969, in the total amount of
$14,926.00. This being $3.69 per square foot. Motion passed 4 to 1.
Councilman Watson absent from the Council Chambers at this time.
It was moved -by Councilman Courtright, seconded by Councilman Wasek
that the Mayor be authorized to execute contract with Cinco Building
Corporation for this shop building. Motion passed 4 to 0. Councilman
Watson absent from the Council Chambers at this time.
It was moved by Councilman Wasek, seconded by Councilman Ellis that the
color and trim of the Central Fire Station and Substations - also shop
r-- building be as follows:
Sides - Yellow (Stran-Satin & Du -Life)
Roof & Trim - White (Vinyl, Stran-Satin & Du -Lite)
Brick Trim - White
Motion passed 5 to 0.
The Council agreed that the grading and plot plan of the various sites
to be left to the discretion of the City Administrator and Public Work's
Director.
WATER LINE - CORRIGAN SUBDIVISION TO COLONY PARK SUBDIVISION:
It was moved by Councilman Wasek, seconded by Councilman Ellis that based
upon the Engineer's recommendation,for future planning that additional
items be included in the Corrigan Subdivision to Colony Park water line.
Cost of these items to be approximately $410.00 and paid for by the
City of Pearland. Additional items:

Motion failed 3 to 2. Councilman Watson, Councilman Courtright and
Councilman Sanders opposed.

It was moved by Councilman Courtright that the line be installed in
accordance with the Engineer's drawings less the 2 10" x 10" x 6" Tees and
216" plugs on the west side of Corrigan Drive and one immediately east of
West Broadway crossing.
Councilman Courtright withdrew this motion with a request that Councilman
Wasek remake his original motion.
It was moved by Councilman Wasek, seconded by Councilman Ellis that based
on the Engineer's recommendation for future planning that additional items
be included in the Corrigan Subdivision to Colony Park Water Line.
Cost of these items to be approximately $410.00 and paid for by the City
of Pearland. Additional items:

SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE AMENDMENT:
It was moved by Councilman Sander§, seconded by Councilman Ellis that
the Subdivision Ordinance be amended to the effect fiat all engineering
fees (over and above filing fees) incurred by the City in the checking
and approving of subdivision plats and construction plans to be repaid
to the City by the subdivider before final approval of the subdivision.
Motion passed 5 to 0.
