MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS, HELD IN THE CITY HALL ANNEX ON SEPTEMBER 11, 1966, -TT -7:42 P. M.
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Pearland was called
to order by Mayor D. R. Keller with the following present:.

1. Meet,'. with Mr. & Mrs. B. M. Jamison in an effort to
reach a better understanding regarding various complaints,,against the-
City.
2. Discuss moving the Walnut Street sewer line.
INVOCATION:
The invocation was given by Mayor D. R. Keller.

MR. & MRS. B. M. JAMISON:
Mr. & Mrs. B. M. Jamison, along with their Attorney, Mr. Ray Holder
were present at the meeting. No action was taken by the Council.
WALNUT STREET SEWER LINE:
A discussion was held regarding the moving of the Walnut Street
sewer line. City Administrator Buford Waldrop recommended that the line
remain as shown on the original contract plans because the Engineer's
estimate of cost for moving this line does not indicate any savings,
and would possibly delay the project.
Meeting recessed 8:13 P. M.
Reconvened at 8:23 P. M.
A motion was made by Councilman Ellis that based on the figures furnished
r- by the Engineer, the time element involved, and the fact that one
j Councilman had eight weeks to come up with a recommendation, that
consideration of moving the Walnut Street sewer line be dropped. Motion
died for lack of second.
A motion was made by Councilman Ellis, seconded by Councilman Wasek that
the City Administrator contact Mr. Smith of the Mainland Construction
Company and tell him to go to work as quickly as he can.
Councilman Courtright moved to table the above motion. Seconded by
Councilman Sanders. Voting "aye" - Councilman Courtright and Councilman
Sanders. Voting "no" - Councilman Ellis and Councilman Wasek. Mayor

Keller voing "no" to break tie vote. Motion failed.
Mayor Keller called for a vote on the original motion. Voting "aye"
Councilman Ellis and Councilman Wasek. Voting "no" - none.
Councilman Courtright and Councilman Sanders abstained. Motion carried.
Councilman Courtright stated for the record that he abstained to request
a 24 hour study of the proposition.
Meeting adjourned by motion 9:24 P. M.
