PEARLAND.VOLUNTEER F RE DEPARTMENTTS OFFICE LOCATED 3501 ORANGE STREET, PEARLAND, TEXAS. A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Pearland was called to order by Mayor Keller with the following present: Mayor D. R. Keller Councilman Cecil W. Griffin Councilman Carlton McComb Councilman James 0. DeShazer City Administrator William E. Wolff City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook Absent: Councilman Melvin L. Black City Attorney Councilman E. A. Wasek Bobby Williams INVOCATION: Invocation was given byMay-or Keller. PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: 1. MYKAWA ROAD WATER LINE 2. YOST ROAD WATER LINE 3. AWARDING OF BIDS - (a) Bid No. 70-7 - Pipe (b) Bid No. 70-9 - Manhole Rings & Covers P -•t MYKAWA ROAD WATER LINE: Mr. Gene Sanders appeared before the Council and discussed his conversation with several property owners along Mykawa Road regarding right-of-way to enable the City to install a water line. Most all owners contacted by Mr. Sanders were agreeable to granting 20 additional feet of right- of-way, however, one owner of several large tracts of land along the east side of Mykawa was not agreeable at this time. It was moved by Councilman Griffin, seconded by Councilman McComb that the City Attorney be authorized to draw up the necessary easement documents and that the City Administrator be authorized to install water line to the extent the valid easements are obtained. Motion passed � to 0. YOST ROAD WATER LINE: Mr. Barchenger was present at the meeting and was asked by the Mayor Keller if he would be agreeable at some later date to grant the City 15 feet of road right-of-way on Yost Road. This would be the 10 -feet water utility easement plus 5 feet. Mr. Barchenger indicated he would be agreeable to this. Nen pis -s -eel -9 It was moved by Councilman McComb, seconded by Councilman Griffin -that the Yost Road 'mater line be installed from East Broadway to 'Mr:. Ba-rchengerfs south property line. This would be an 8" line. M6tion passed 3 to 0. `105 AWARDING OF BIDS: BID 70-7 - Pipe: Mr. Bennett, representative of Armco was present and requested permission from the Council to discuss the merits of truss pipe which was bid by Armco. He was granted this request and presented literature and information to the Mayor and Council on this product. It was moved by Councilman DeShazer, seconded by Councilman Griffin that we accept the bid of the Dickey Clay Pipe Company at the price per square foot as bid as the lowest and best bid. Motion passed 3 to 0. BID 70-9 - Machined Manhole Rings and Covers: It was moved by Councilman McComb, seconded by Councilman Griffin that the Utility Supply Company be awarded the bid No. 70-9 - Machined Manhole Rings and Covers for a price of $30.95 per unit as the best and lowest bid. Motion passed 3 to 0. ADJOURN: It was moved by Councilman DeShazer, seconded by Councilman Griffin that the meeting adjourn. Meeting adjourned 8:50 P. M.
