MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON
OCTOBER 7, 1974, AT 7:30 P. M. IN THE CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE, PEARLAND, TEXAS.
The meeting was called to order with the following present:

INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

The invocation was given by Council Chaplain Art Jones. The Pledge of Allegiance was led
by Councilman Sanders.
PURPOSE OF THE MEETING:
1. Revise date of Public Hearing to consider rate increase by
Southwestern Bell Telephone Company under the Metropolitan Service
Plan.
2. Ad Valorem Records, Inc. - current tax contract.
PUBLIC HEARING BY SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY:
AEyor McComb advised the City Council that at the time the Public Hearing was called for
the 21st day of October that it was thoughtthe Southwestern Bell Telephone Company's increase
in rates would be effective in November, however, it has been learned that the increase
will be on the October billing.
It was moved by Councilman Reid, seconded by Councilman Frank that the Public Hearing
to consider rate increase by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company under the Metropolitan
Service Plan be changed from October 21, 1974 to October 14, 1974 under Docketed Public
Hearings of the regular council meeting. Motion passed 4 to 0.
AD VALOREM RECORDS, INC. CURRENT TAX CONTRACT:
It was moved by Councilman Sanders, seconded by Councilman Frank that we not take any
01, action on Item 2 unti16 the next regular meeting. Motion passed 3 to 0. Councilman
Reid absent from the room at this time.
