A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, approving
participation in the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, FY
2027 Rifle-Resistant Body Armor Grant Program; Grant Number 57738-01,
in the total amount of $27,582.00
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Pearland that the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, FY 2027 Rifle-Resistant
Body Armor Program be operated during Fiscal Year 2027; and
WHEREAS, City Council approves the City of Pearland application for twenty-seven
thousand five hundred eighty-two dollars ($27,582.00) in funding for the total program costs of
the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, FY 2027 Rifle-Resistant Body Armor
Program, Grant Number 57738-01; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of these funds
from the Office of the Governor, the City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the
Office of the Governor in full; and
WHEREAS, the City Council designates Joel Hardy, Head of External Affairs as the
grantee’s authorized official and is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate
the grant on behalf of the applicant agency; and
WHEREAS, the City Council designates Michael Rawlinson, Grants Manager as the
grantee’s financial officer and is given the power to submit financial and/or programmatic reports
or alter a grant on behalf of the applicant agency; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS;
Section 1. That the City Council approves submission of the grant application for the
Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, FY 2027 Rifle-Resistant Body Armor Program,
Grant Number 57738-01.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this the 9th day of February, A.D., 2026.
