PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON MARCH 12, 1991, AT 6:30 P. M. IN THE
COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS
The meeting was called to order with the following present:

NEW BUSINESS
V91-2, VARIANCE TO SECTION 9-157, WIRING GENERALLY, ORDINANCE NO.
110-E, AS CODIFIED IN THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TO PERMIT THE USE OF ARMORED CABLE IN PLACE OF RIGID
CONDUIT IN A PROPOSED MODULAR OFFICE LOCATED AT 4201 W. ORANGE,
BRUCE FENTON, AGENT FOR PIPE AND TUBE SUPPLIES, INC., OWNER
A representative of Pipe and Tube Supplies introduced photographs
showing a floor plan of the trailer which will house basic office
equipment for four people.
The Board discussed wiring, hook-up, inspection of the facility
and whether BX wiring was used. The City's inspection role was
discussed and the process involved after the trailer is to be
brought on site. The Board expressed the desire that an electri-
cal contractor be called in to hook it up and to check for insu-
lated throats and BX wiring with proper grounding. Wiring should
comply with the National Electric Code and City of Pearland
codes. Mr. Don Guynes of the Permit Department assured that all
these requirements would be met.
The Board voted unanimously to approve Variance No. V91-2 to
permit the use of armored cable in place of rigid conduit in a
modular office located at 4201 W. Orange.
Motion passed 3 to 0.
