Darnel Renee Monceaux It was deciaea by the Board tnat Eadie Berger would act as Chairman of the Hearing. PURPOSE OF THE HEARING To receive testimony regar--aing a certain Srarpei dog in the Pines�iadows Subdivision and alleged attacks by said dog upon other arrimais ad/or- persons. NUMBER OF PEOPLE SIGNING THE REGISIER: d 6UMM NT5 kliLVI THE AUDIENCE Rusty Hall, 27Ua Pine Needle, Pearland. Mr. Hall reIated an iriciaeut wnicn occurred on March 10, 1987_ He stated he returned home and round that his dog has been attacked, -in the back yard of his residence, apparently by another nog. He told the Board that his aug subsequently died nine days later from this attack, every anter extensive veterinary care. Tnere was a general discussion among Boara u,emDers arra Mr. Hail. Renee Monceaux, Pearland Animal Uuntrul Or -ricer, stated that she had been in contact witn Donald Brown, the owner of the dog who allegedly made the attack and Mr. Brown had informed her that the dog has been turuea over to a dog breeder in La rorte. It was pointed out tnat Mr. Brown did not accept the certiriea letter sent to him by the City informing him of the puDI±e nearing in this matter. Ms. Monceaux related that neread admitted that his dog was the one involved n -r the attack. Mr. Hall stated that the police had been called in utner incidences involving this animal and the dug making tne attack had to be physically restrained from the dug being attacked. On Borne of these occasions, those residents involved were said to have guns. Ms. Monceaux confirmed this testimony, saying that she knew or approximately six times she had received complaints un this arliural. There was a general discussion between the Board members and Mr. Hall about the possibility of banning dangerous dugs rrtxu tne city in the future. BOARD DETERMINATION OF wrirTHER SAID SHARPEI DOG TO BE CONSIDERED A vluIuuS ANIMAL UNDER SECTIixv b-44 uF 1lil; CITY (,'ODE OF ORDINANCES After a general discussion, a motion was made by Dr_ Stevener, seconded by Susan Elam, that the dog in question be declared a vicious animal. Motion passed 5-0. Motion passed 5-0.
