HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd.1650 20250922 ORDINANCE NO.1650 An appropriation Ordinance adopting a budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2025, and ending September 30, 2026; pay plans for fiscal year 2025-2026; and, pursuant to Local Government Code, Section 102.007, providing for a separate ratification vote of the property tax revenue increase reflected in the budget. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Manager's proposed 2025-2026 Budget, attached hereto as Exhibit “A”, be adopted in compliance with provisions of Article 8 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Pearland, Texas which sets forth certain specific requirements as to the City of Pearland, Section 2. That City Council hereby appropriates certain sums, more specifically identified on Exhibit “A” attached hereto, for the proposed fiscal year 2025-2026 Budget. Section 3. That the City Council hereby confers upon the City Manager general authority to contract for expenditures, within appropriated fund amounts, for all budgeted items the cost of which do not exceed the constitutional and statutory requirements for competitive bidding. Section 4. That the City Council deems the Pay Plans and Organizational Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit “B”, contained in the 2025-2026 Budget to be in the best interest of the City and is hereby adopted. Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage on second and final reading. PASSED and APPROVED ON FIRST READING this the 8th day of September, A.
