1976-06-17 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES170 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND HELD ON JUNE 17, 1976, AT 7:00 P. M. IN THE CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The meeting was called to order with the following present: Mayor Carlton McComb Councilman Tom geid Councilman Harry Farley Councilman Benny J. Frank Councilman Terry Gray (Entered 7:15 P. M.) Councilman Cecil W. Griffin (Entered 7:16 P. M.) City Manager William E. Wolff City Engineer Malcolm Collins City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook City Attorney Bobby J. Williams (Entered 7:16 P. M.) PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: 1. Final acceptance and release of building permits - Woodcreek Section 2A. 2. Final acceptance and release of building permits - Corrigan North Subdivision. WOODCREEK, SECTION 2A: Farley Councilman read a letter from Malcolm A. Collins, City Engineer recommending that the City accept Woodcreek Section 2A. Mr. Collins advised that the corrections requested had been made. The City Secretary advised that other information required was in the files. It was moved by Councilman Farley, Seconded by Councilman Reid that based on the recommendation, of the City Secretary and City Engineer, the subdivision known as Woodcreek, Section 2A be accepted by the City and building permits be released. Motion passed 3 to 0. Councilman Gray and Councilman Griffin not present at this time. Mayor McComb left the meeting at 7:20, Mayor Pro Tem Reid presiding. CORRIGAN NORTH SUBDIVISION: City Engineer Malcolm Collins read his letter to the City Council dated June 17, 1976 due to wherein he advised that various deficiencies or inconsistencies with the City of Pearland Subdivision Regulations, he could not recommend the acceptance of Corrigan North Subdivision, unless the City wished to accept additional maintenance problems and costs above normal. He advised that the subdivision system would work, but it would cause additional maintenance. Mr. Collins letter outlined some deficiencies in sewer grades as well as a sag in one of the eight inch sewer lines. P_ discussion was held between the City Council and the Developer and his engineer, John 171 Garner regarding the deficiencies noted by the City Engineer. It was moved by Councilman Griffin, seconded by Councilman Gray that Corrigan North Subdivision be approved subject to the execution of an agreement between the City and the Developer providing that the City be held harmless for any abnormal maintenance problems in the sewer system. Motion passed 5 to 0. The City Attorney to work with the Developer in preparing agreement for Council's consideration. ADJOURN: Meeting adjourned at 8:30 P. M.
