1976-06-07 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING HELD BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE PARK BOARD OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND ON JUNE 7, 1976, AT 7:30 P. M. IN THE CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The meeting was called to order with the following present: Mayor Carlton McComb Councilman and Tom Reid Mayor Pro Tem Councilman Cecil W. Griffin Councilman Harry Farley Councilman Terry Gray Councilman Benny J. Frank City Manager William E. Wolff City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook Park Board Members Present: Hopie Soria, Rev. L. R. Jull, John Castleberry, Joe A. Martin, and Mike Coppinger. Architect PURPOSE OF THE HEARING: Emil F. Zapalac, Jr. TO RECEIVE PUBLIC COMMENT RELATING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF FACILITIES IN INDEPENDENCE PARK AND THE IMPACT SUCH DE- VELOPMENT WILL HAVE ON THE ENVIRONMENT. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK FOR THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT: 1. Emil F. Zapalac, Jr., 8729 Gulf Freeway, Houston, Texas Mr. Zapalac presented a model of the park with proposed improvements. 2. Mr. Mike Coppinger, 2513 Taylor Lane, Pearland, Texas PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK AGAINST THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT: None QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD: A discussion was held between the City Council, Park Board and the Architect regarding the proposed improvements.
