MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS,
HELD ON FEBRUARY 26, 1976, AT 7:30 P. M. IN:THE CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE,
PEARLAND, TEXAS.
The meeting was called to order with the following present:
Mayor Carlton McComb
Councilman Cecil W. Griffin
Councilman Harry Farley
Councilman Tom Reid
Councilman Benny J. Frank
City Manager William E. Wolff
City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook
Absent from the meeting: City Attorney, Bobby Williams.
PURPOSE OF THE MEETING:
TO AWARD BIDS OPENED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON
FEBRUARY 23, 1976.
Bid No. 76-6 - Group Hospitalization & Life Insurance
Bid No. 76-7 - Used Communications Service Monitor
Bid No. 76-8 - Two Electric Motor Driven Centrifugal Pumps
BID NO. 76-7 - USED COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE MONITOR:
City Manager Wolff advised that he and Harold Sanders had reviewed the bids and
recommended that the City Council award the bid to Cushman Electronics for the
sum of $6,634.75. This would be for a new piece of equipment that could be ship-
ped immediately. The cost difference between the bids received for used equipment
and new equipment would amount to approximately $100.00.
It was moved by Councilman Frank, seconded by Councilman Reid that the City
Manager be authorized to purchase this equipment from Cushman Electronics, Inc.
for the amount of $6,634.75. Motion passed 4 to 0.
BID NO. 76-8 - TWO ELECTRIC MOTOR DRIVEN CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS:
City Manager Wolff recommended that the bid be awarded to Ingersoll-Rand Company
for a cost of $2,880.00 for the two pumps.
It was moved by Councilman Reid, seconded by Councilman Farley that Bid No.
76-8 be awarded to Ingersoll-Rand Company for a price of $1,440.00 for each
pump, total bid for two pumps is $2,880.00 based on the recommendation of the
City Manager and this amount be paid from the WaterBond Funds. Motion passed
4 to 0.

BID NO. 76-6 - GROUP HOSPITALIZATION AND LIFE INSURANCE:
Councilman Griffin advised that some unresolved questions needed to be answered
before the bid was awarded on Group Hospitalization and Life Insurance.
It was moved by Councilman Griffin, seconded by Councilman Farley that the contract
with. Farmers' Life Insurance Group be extended for one month and that the item of
Group Hospitalization and Life Insurance for employees be placed on the agenda of
March 8, 1976. Motion passed 4 to 0.
