HomeMy WebLinkAbout20250324 Planning and Zoning and City Council Joint Workshop Meeting MinutesPearland City Council and Planning and Zoning Minutes March 24, 2025 CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION JOINT PLANNED DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES MARCH 24, 2025 The City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission of Pearland, Texas convened in a meeting on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Pearland City Hall Council Chambers, 3519 Liberty Drive, Pearland, Texas. The following represents the actions taken by City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission in the order they occurred during the meeting. All motions are made by Council and Planning and Zoning in consecutive order, as determined by the Mayor. I. CALL TO ORDER Mayor J. Kevin Cole called the meeting to order at 5:39 p.m. II. ROLL CALL AND CERTIFICATION OF QUORUM - CITY COUNCIL Mayor J. Kevin Cole Mayor Pro-Tem Tony Carbone Councilmember Joseph Koza Councilmember Mona Chavarria Councilmember Clint Byrom Councilmember Layni Cade Councilmember Rushi Patel City Manager Trent Epperson Deputy City Attorney Lawrence Provins Deputy City Secretary Gladis Sanchez All members were present. III. ROLL CALL AND CERTIFICATION OF QUORUM - PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Chair Henry Fuertes Commissioner John McDonald Commissioner Derrell Isenberg Commissioner Jenifer Stockdick Commissioner Thomas Echols Commissioner Trey Haskins All Commissioners were present except for Commissioner Jennifer Henrichs. IV. CITIZEN COMMENTS Marco Medina, 2617 Tidenhaven Dr., expressed his concern regarding the low- hanging power lines in his backyard. Matthew Hiatt, 3418 Noble Terrace Ln., expressed his support regarding multi-family housing. PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOP NO. 1 1.Discussion: A request by Stephen B. Woods, Moody National Realty Company, LP applicant, on behalf of Woodforest National Bank owner, for a Planned Development Workshop as required by the Unified Development Code, regarding a proposed development consisting of 182 multi-family units on approximately 9.624 acres of land, to wit: Legal Description: A 9.624-acre tract of land, being part of Block 1, Lot 7 out of the Fourth Amending Plat of Shadow Creek Town Center Subdivision, Section 4, situated in the T.C.R.R. Co. Survey, Abstract 675, according to the map or plat recorded in Volume 23, Pages 269-270, of the Plat records of Brazoria County, Texas General Location: 2680 Business Center Drive, Pearland, Texas. Presentation was provided by Katya Copeland, Planning Manager and Brett C. Moody, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer with Moody National Realty Company, LP. VI.
