1977-04-30 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON APRIL 30, 1977, AT 11:00 A.M. IN THE CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The meeting was called to order with the following present: Mayor Carlton McComb Councilman Harry Farley Councilman Dennis Frauenberger Councilman Terry'Gray Councilman Tom Reid Councilman Morris Wilson City Manager William E. Wolff City Attorney Bobby J. Williams City Engineer Malcolm Collins City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook PURPOSE OF THE MEETING: 1. FINAL APPROVAL AND RELEASE OF BUILDING PERMITS - WOODCREEK II -B 2. ADJUSTMENTS TO BUDGETS OF CITY. 3. ADDITIONAL FACILITIES FOR FIRE TRUCK, AMBULANCE AND OTHER CITY VEHICLES. Mayor McComb changed the order of business as follows: ADJUSTMENTS TO BUDGETS OF THE CITY: It was moved by Councilman Farley, seconded by Councilman Reid that the $8,000 in the present Revenue Sharing Budget under Cemetery be transferred to Environmental to cover the deficit in the Mykawa Road water project, and that the.$8,000 to replace this be made a consideration of the next annual general budget of the City. Motion passed 5 to 0. ADDITIONAL FACILITIES FOR FIRE TRUCK, AMBULANCE AND OTHER CITY VEHICLES: Mr. Ron Wicker, of the Department of Planning & Transportation presented a drawing outlining proposed Service Center expansion at the City Barn site. The following list items and estimated costs: Convert existing garage 3,080 square feet @ $6.00 per square foot $ 18,480.00 Add two bay for fire trucks 1,600 sq. ft. @ $9.00 per sq. ft. 14,400.00 New garage facilities 4,000 sq. ft. @ $8.25 per sq. ft. 33,000.00 Covered wash & grease area 1,400 sq. ft. @ $5.00 per sq. ft. 7,000.00 Two covered storage areas 6000 sq. ft. @ $6.00 per sq. ft. 36,000.00 Add necessary fencing 1,500 ft. @ $3.00 per ft. 4,500.00 Demolish existing concrete structures 1,800.00 Parking, sidewalks 3,000.00 Total estimated cost $118,180.00 It was moved by Councilman Reid, seconded by Councilman Wilson that the City Manager be authorized to prepare specifications for the expansion of the City Service Center in preparation for bids, and that the City Attorney be authorized to prepare the necessary ordinances for financing of this project. Motion passed 5 to 0. FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF WOODCREEK II -B: The final acceptance and release of building permits in Woodcreek II -B was brought before the City Council for consideration. The exceptions regarding the grades of certain streets pointed out in the City Engineer's letter of April 25, 1977 were discussed with Malcolm Collins, the City Engineer, and Mr. John Garner, Engineer for the developer. It was moved by Councilman Gray, seconded by Councilman Frauenberger that final approval be given to Woodcreek II -B and building permits be released. Motion passed 5 to 0.
