1977-04-18 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED USE OF REVENUE SHARING ENTITLEMENT PERIOD
EIGHT HELD IN THE COUNCIL ROOM OF THE CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE ON APRIL 18,
1977, AT 7:30 P.M.
The Hearing was called to order by Mayor McComb, Chief Executive of the City.
The following individuals were present at the Hearing:
City Manager William E. Wolff, Assistant City Secretary & Treasurer Dorothy S.
Thompson, Councilmen Harry Farley, Terry Gray, Tom Reid, Dennis Frauenberger,
and Morris Wilson, Robert B. Bristow, T. S. Howard, Robert K. Bristow, C. W.
Griffin, Mary Beth Davis, Mary Emma Bristow, David Stock, and Harold Sanders.
Mayor McComb advised that the purpose of this Hearing was to receive recommendations,
both oral or written, from citizens regarding the use of $67,620.00 in Revenue
Sharing money to be received by the City for entitlement period eight.
The following citizens made suggestions for the spending of this money.
Robert Bristow advised that the community needed a community meeting place as
well as storage for vehicles. He also submitted a prepared pamplet entitled
"A Community Training Center" (EMS).
Cecil W. Griffin inquired as to whether or not the City had adequate funds for
Mykawa Road water project. He also suggested expansion of the City Barn
facilities.
Mary Emma Bristow inquired as to whether or not funds could be used for off site
utilities. This would be in reference to the Park.
Harold Sanders advised that he felt the funds should be used for expansion of
the Library and the communications department of the City.
After all present were given an opportunity to be heard, the Mayor adjourned
the meeting at 7:55 P.M. Entire tape of Public Hearing on file in the office
of the City Secretary.
