R2006-190 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, APPROVING SPRINT/NEXTEL AS THE CITY'S CELL PHONE PROVIDER AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSITION TO A POOLED MINUTE PLAN. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. That Sprint/Nextel is hereby designated as the City's cell phone provider and the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to amend its current cell phone plan to include the pooled minute package. Customers on Business Essentials with 7PM, on the same account, pool cellular minutes across plan tiers on the same network. In addition, Nationwide Walkie-Talkie is standard on all Business Essentials plans on the iDEN network. MTM and Walkie-Talkie are valuable options for employees who want free calling options that do not use Anytime Minutes on their rate plans. Only Sprint offers business customers the following features: Cellular minutes that "pool" across all individual users on an account. Unlimited Nights and Weekend calling starting at 7PM Add-A-Phone options at $25 per unit Unlimited Nationwide Walkie-Talkie (iDEN) Along with a group of Anytime Minutes, Sprint Business Essentials@ with 7PM subscribers receive extended calling time with: Unlimited Nights & Weekends starting at 7PM Unlimited Nationwide Walkie-Talkie (iDEN handset activations) Nationwide Long Distance VoiceMail and Caller 10 Pooling of Cellular Minutes '* Ability to "Add-A-Phone" for additional $25 per line Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Calling can be purchased on the iDEN network for $5 per line. Program Details Included Minutes & Sharing Anytime cellular minutes pool across all rate tiers on the same network. Additional Add-a-Phone lines are only $25 MRC per line. . Customers CANNOT purchase the $25 Add-a-Phone as a stand-alone plan. A customer must have at least one Sprint Business Essentials@ with 7PM core plan. A customer can add up to 5 Add-a-phone lines for every core plan purchased. Unlimited Nights & Weekends starting at 7PM are included. Night and Weekend Minutes can be used from Monday through Thursday 7pm to 7am and Friday 7pm to Monday 7am. Cellular overage rate is $0.40 per minute Long Distance is included. All cellular calls round airtime to the next full minute. Caller 10 and Voicemail are included. $5 Mobile to Mobile Buy-Up Option - This allows iDEN customers to make unlimited calls directly to 40M Nextel iDEN and Sprint PCS Subscribers while on the Sprint/Nextel Nationwide Network without using their service plan minutes.
