RESOLUTION NO. R2006-201
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN THE VICTIMS
ASSISTANCE GRANT THROUGH THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY
GENERAL.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pearland (hereinafter "City") finds it in the
best interest of the citizens of Pearland to continue its participation in the Victims
Assistance Grant Program during Fiscal Year 2006-2007; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees that the entity will not use the existence of an Office of
the Attorney General grant award to offset or decrease total salaries, expenses, and
allowances that the applicant receives from the governing body at or after the time the
grant is awarded; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the
Attorney General funds, the City assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the
Attorney General in full; and
WHEREAS, the City designates the City Manager or his designee as the grantee's
authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject,
alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City approves submission of the grant application for the
Victims Assistance Grant to the Office of the Attorney General, Crime Victim Service
Division.
