George H. Owens, Jr., 2308 Austin Street, appeared on behalf of his father,
George H. Owens, Sr., advising that he and his father wish to expand the
business that they are presently engaged which is racing and custom equipment
for automobiles.
Nonny Walker, 2418 Dixie Farm Road, spoke for the change. John Garner, Engineer
-- and owner of property adjoining this requested change, spoke for it.

to do with the property if it was rezoned, and he advised that they would use it
for automobile parts business and storage of supplies.

The above individuals spoke against granting an R-2 Classification for this
property due to size of lots. They felt that an R-1 Classification would be
more compatible to the area.
QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD:
The Council discussed with Mr. Mann the possibility of R-1, larger lots, in
this area, and Mr. Mann advised that he was willing to make the lots adjacent
to Longwood Park 80 x 110 feet which would make the total lots 294 in this
subdivision rather than 300; however, he did not feel it was feasible to make
the entire tract R-1 due to the shape of this tract.
