2023-04-13 PEARLAND PARKS, RECREATION AND BEAUTIFICATION BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTES MINUTES — REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND PARKS, RECREATION & BEAUTIFICATION BOARD, HELD ON THURSDAY, APRIL 13, 2023, AT 8:30 am, AT PEARLAND RECREATION CENTER & NATATORIUM. I. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Jackson called the meeting to order at 8:35 am. II. BOARD ROLL CALL Dennis Jackson Chairman Nancy Bankson Board Member Heather Baker Vice-chairman Heather Campo Board Member Dennis Allen Board Member Ryan Dixon Board Member Carry Capers Director, Parks & Recreation Kevin Carter Assistant Director, Parks & Recreation STAFF Amy Coykendall Executive Assistant III. Citizen Comments No Citizens attended. IV. Approval of Minutes Ryan Dixon motion for approval. Heather Campo seconded. Board minutes are approved. V. Board report Dennis Jackson was able to go to the new all-inclusive playground- his son loved it. The second time he went out there were Miracle League games and a tee ball game going on, and the kids rushed over to the playground after the games. Heather Baker-She is incredibly happy the all-inclusive park is open, as there are many special needs families in the neighborhood. She is disappointed that Ruff Runner has been postponed to later in the year. Dennis Allen- He was amazed at the soccer event and turnout at Hickory Slough. He stopped at Southdown and saw the changes made to the sign. He spoke with Arnulfo Gonzales and Ramiro Chapa while at Southdown, and he was able to get a chance to speak with them about their job. They feel the effects of being short-staffed. He asked about an update on the dirt in the fields. Kevin stated they are finishing the irrigation and the company will be removing the loads of dirt by the end of next week. VI. NEW BUSINESS a. DISCUSSION- FY24 Budget b.
