AVENUE, PEARLAND, TEXAS.
The meeting was called to order with the following present:
Mayor Tom Reid
Councilman Dennis Frauenberger
Councilman Charles R. Mack
Councilwoman Fran Coppinger
Councilman Morris S. Wilson
City Manager William E. Wolff
City Attorney Bobby J. Williams
City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook
Absent from the meeting: Council Carlton McComb
PROCLAMATION:
Mayor Reid presented a proclamation to Mrs. Betty Clemmons, President of the
League of Women Voters, proclaiming the week of April 14, 1980 as "League of
Women Voters Week in Pearland, Texas".

RESULTS OF A CITY OFFICERS' ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 5, 1980:

ELECTION REGULAR AND SPECIAL, HELD IN THE CITY OF PEARLAND,
TEXAS, ON APRIL 5, 1980•

On this the 7th day of April, 1980, the City Council of the City of
Pearland, Texas, convened in Special called session open to the public at the
regular meeting place thereof, with the following members present, to -wit:
Mayor Tom Reid
Councilman Dennis Frauenberger
Councilman Charles Mack
Councilwoman Fran Coppinger
Councilman Morris Wilson
City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook
and the following absent: Councilman Carlton McComb, constituting a quorum,
and among other proceedings had were the following:
Councilman Mack introduced a resolution and order and moved its adoption.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Wilson, and the motion carrying with it the
adoption of the resolution and order prevailed by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman Frauenberger, Councilman Mack, Councilwoman Coppinger, and
Councilman Wilson.
NOES: None.
The resolution is as follows:
There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 5th
day of April, 1980, for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials,
and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast
at said election 1458 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said
election received the following votes:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given
in accordance with law; that said election was held in accordance with law; and
that pursuant to valid ballots cast in the Election for Council Position 1, a
run-off election becomes necessary between Dennis Frauenberger and Al Lentz; and
further, that pursuant to valid ballots cast in the Election for Council Position
5, a run-off election becomes necessary between Morris Wilson and Terry Gray,
inasmuch as no one candidate for said offices received a majority of all votes
cast in said election. Said run-off election shall be called and held pursuant
to Section 5.06 of the Home Rule Charter of the City and applicable provisions
of the Election Code of the State of Texas.
It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of
this governing body, the Secretary posted written notice of the date, place, and
subject of this meeting on the bulletin board located in the City Hall, a place
convenient and readily accessible to the general public, and said notice having
been so posted and remaining posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding
the scheduled time of said meeting. A copy of the return of said posting shall
be attached to the minutes of this meeting and shall be made a part thereof for
all intents and purposes.

OTHER BUSINESS:
Mayor Reid advised that he would issue an Order on April 8, 1980 for the Run-off
Election to be held on May 10, 1980, in accordance with the provisions of the
Home Rule Charter of the City of Pearland, Texas.
Mayor Reid appointed Mr. Joe Weber as Arbitrator for the City of Pearland under
the Arbitration section of the contract between the City of Pearland and Inter -
Urban Pipelines, Inc.
