CDBG Program OverviewThe national objective of the CDBG program is to develop viable urban commu-nities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment and expandingeconomic opportunities principally for low and moderate-income persons. Noless than 70% of CDBG funds must be used for activities that benefit low andmoderate-income persons.
CDBG goals include:• Improving the urban environment in low and moderate income areas; • Eliminating blighting influences and the deterioration of property, neighbor-hoods, and public facilities in low and moderate-income areas; and • Ensuring decent housing for low and moderate-income residents.
Eligible activities include but are not limited to: public facility construction andimprovements; handicapped accessibility; operational funding for non-profitagencies servicing primarily low income persons; rehabilitation of owner-occu-pied housing; housing development assistance, enforcement of City codes;clearance and demolition; infrastructure improvements; business developmentand job creation activities.

collection. There will be handouts, time for questions, and
examples of care practices. This program is free and open
