R2000-050 04-10-00RESOLUTION NO. R2000-50 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, DECLARING THE NEED FOR AN `INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT ORDINANCE" TO REGULATE INDUSTRIAL DISCHARGES INTO PUBLICLY OWNED TREATMENT FACILITIES. WHEREAS, the City, as part of the permitting process for the Southwest Environmental Center, is required to implement an industrial pretreatment program within its jurisdictional boundaries; and WHEREAS, the City, as required by the TNRCC, must establish and monitor a program designed to regulate industrial discharges into publicly owned treatment facilities; and WHEREAS, the City, by establishing an Ordinance that sets uniform requirements for industrial discharges into the publicly owned treatment works, is able to protect the public health in conformance with state and federal laws; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. That the City Council formally declares the need for an Industrial Pretreatment Ordinance. Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager or his designee, upon approval by the City Council, to administer, implement, and enforce the provisions of a Pretreatment Ordinance.
