1985-11-09 PEARLAND PARKS, RECREATION AND BEAUTIFICATION BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTESMINUTES Minutes of the monthly meeting of the Pearland Parks, Recreation and Beautification Board held Saturday, November 9, 1985 at the Pearland Community Center, 3523 Liberty Drive, Pearland, Texas. The meeting was called to order by Chairman George Triebel, Jr. with the following present: Tootie McComb, Inez Farmer, James Skipper, Bob Pond, Claude Stegall, Barry Lastik, Captain & Stella Roberts, and Delores Fenwick for the Journal. The Roberts recieved the Beautification Award for October. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as printed. Barry Lastik reported that only routine maintenance was performed on parks, due to the weather conditions and lack of funds. The Community Service Representative's Report and the Financial Report were reviewed. Claude Stegall, seconded by Inez Farmer, moved to grant the request of the Christian Women's Club to use the Meeting Room A & B during the next three months at the reduced fee. The motion carried. Inez Farmer, seconded by Jim Skipper, moved to give the Gulf Coast Bottle & Jar Club use of Room A & B, the kitchen, Activity rooms, and the mall on June 27, 28, and 29th of 86 at the special rate of $1,000.00. The motion carried. Bob Pond, seconded by Claude Stegall, moved to give the Pearland Elks Lodge permission to sell beer at a fund raising Bar-B-Que at Independence Park, November 30, 1985. The motion carried. Barry Lastik presented a new preliminary plan for the McLean Road Park which shows more extensive use of the land. The Board ask that the plan be brought back for review and comments after it has been drawn to scale. Chairman George Treibel appointed Bob Pond and Inez Farmer to serve as a Nominating Committee to present mominations for Board Offices for election in January. The meeting was adjourned.
