NEW BUSINESS
1. FINAL PLAT OF OAKBROOK SUBDIVISION, SECTION THREE.
After a brief comments from Al Lentz, engineer for Oakbrook
Subdivision, Section Three, City Engineer John Hargrove and
Division Director Richard Burdine, the plat was approved.
Commissioner Pat Lopez made the motion, seconded by Commissioner
Patsy Eilers, to approve the Final Plat of Oakbrook Subdivision,
Section Three.
Motion passed 6 to 0.
2. FINAL PLAT OF AMENDED PLAT - 2 OF BANBURY CROSS, SECTION
II.
Mr. Buck Houseman, developer of Banbury Cross Subdivision, stated
that the purpose of this amended plat is to abandon the temporary
cul -de -sac at the southern most end of Queen Victoria Street due to
the fact that the cul -de -sac black top paving comes to the front
building line of the end lot of both sides of the street which
makes these lots difficult to sell. He further stated this street
dead ends into a large drainage ditch which is a mistake that was
not caught on the original platting. Consequently, the plat needs
to be amended so these two lots can be used by having two driveways
at the end of the street directly opposite each other that cars can
use to turn around. The driveways will be 20 feet wide and
reinforced so that trucks can also use them when needed.
Discussion followed regarding positioning, use, and additional
reinforcement of the driveways.
Commissioner Emil Beltz made the motion to approve the Final Plat
of the Amended Plat - 2 of Banbury Cross, Section II. Commissioner
Helen Beckman seconded the motion stating that she liked the idea
of extending the building line back to make sure there is a car
length in front of the garage.
Commissioner Pat Lopez inquired as to who would be coming up with
the dimension on the building line.
City Engineer John Hargrove stated that the building line could be
as close as 9 feet to allow for large trucks such as garbage or
firetrucks and put a "No Parking" yellow line or something similar
beyond the eleven foot mark. He also stated the 9 feet would be
beyond the building line.
Vice Chairman Beltz amended the motion, seconded by Commissioner
Beckman to approve the final plat of the amended plat - 2 of
Banbury Cross, Section II with the stipulation that the building
line at the driveway be extended back 9 feet.
