1992-05-19 P&Z Meeting MinutesMINUTES OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 19, 1992, AT 7:00 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. with the following members present: Vice Chairman Helen Beckman Commissioner Mary Starr Commissioner Emil Beltz Commissioner Pat Lopez Chairman Lentz, Commissioners Womack and Garner had an excused absence. APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Emil Beltz, seconded by Mary Starr, that the minutes of the May 11, 1992 meeting be approved as submitted. Motion passed 4 to 0. NEW BUSINESS INFORMAL DISCUSSION WITH RWS ARCHITECTS REPRESENTATIVE MALCOLM GAUS, REGARDING THE PLATTING PROCESS FOR THE NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. Mr. Gaus conveyed to the Commission that there are two elementary schools which he wanted to discuss the platting process. The first school will be located on Bryan street in the Southdown Subdivision. The Commission explained to Mr. Gaus that this area is not in Pearland's ETJ, therefore, it is out of their jurisdiction. The second elementary school Mr. Gaus discussed with the Commis- sion will be located on Rustic Lane. It was determined by the Commission that the plat was in order and did not require any changes. They will, however, have to request annexation and apply for a specific use permit. k1EETING RECESSED AT 7:20 P.M. MEETING RECONVENED AT 7:25 P.M. INFORMAL DISCUSSION WITH TOM IMBER REGARDING THE PLATTING PROCESS OF THE NARREGANG SUBDIVISION. Mr. Imber explained to the Commission that he is in the process of purchasing 25.25 acres out of 28 acres in the Narregang Subdi- vision. Mr. Imber intends to construct a driving range on this property. After reviewing the plat, the Commission suggested to Mr. Imber that he purchase all of lot 10 in the Narregang Subdivision. By purchasing the entire lot the replatting process would not be necessary. REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE TO REDUCE THE 25' BUILDING LINE TO 10' BY C.L. DAVIS & CO., FOR GREEN TEE TOWNHOMES, SECTION II. FINAL PLAT OF GREEN TEE TERRACE TOWNHOUSES SECTION II, BEING A REPLAT OF BLOCK 7 GREEN TEE TERRACE TOWNHOUSES, AS RECORDED IN VOL. 177, PG. 60 HCMR W.D.C. SURVEY, A -23 PEARLAND, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. These two items were passed on until a future agenda. ADJOURN The meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
