1964-11-20 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES 12t A special meeting of the City Council of Pearland was held on Friday, November 20, 1964, at the City Hall, 14429 Texas Avenue, with the following city officials and guests in attendance . Mayor John G. Kegley, Councilmen Victor A. Nolen, Steven A. Shukanes, Gene E. Sanders, Thomas P. Alexander and City Secretary W. A. McClellan. Mayor Kegley explained that the purpose of the meeting was to get authorization to sign a letter to Paul Long, Trustee, dated August 10, 1964, and other business that might properly be brought before the Council .. Motion made by Nolen, seconded by Shukanes, that Mayor Kegley be authorized to sign a letter addressed to Paul Long, Trustee, concerning sewer plant site No. 3 which will serve Sleepy Hollow and Longwood Subdivis-ions . All Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes ." Motion carried. Motion made by Nolen, seconded by Shukanes, that Notice to Bidders to bid on sewer treatment plant No. 3, the collect-or lines and appurtenances, be advertised in the Alvin Sun on November 19th and 26th, in the Progress on November 19th and 26th, and in the Houston Post on November 19th, 21st and 23rd. All Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes . " Motion carried. Motion made by Kegley, seconded by,, Shukanes, that N-olen act as .a committee of one to investigate the possibility of Pearland Police serving the City of Brookside and Friendswood on a fee basis .
