Ms. Ennis noted he has been receiving questions about Shadow Creek Park, but also
noted Mr. Orlea gave an update at least month's meeting.
Mr. Stevens talked about Hargrove trail — additional parking is needed. Mr. Stevens also
noted that having an additional mechanism for getting the word out about events around
Pearland would be helpful.
Mr. Mittica talked the Birthday Bash and believed everything went smoothly.
V. DIVISION PRESENTATION — Tyler Froberg, Natural Resources Superintendent
Ms. Capers began by informing the Board of the changes in Parks staff. Currently Mr.
Froberg is also acting as Interim Parks Superintendent in addition to his regular
responsibilities as Natural Resources Superitendent. Mr. Froberg will fill this position until
further notice.
Mr. Froberg began by talking about the Natural Resources division. Mr. Froberg explained
that this division works heavily with Texas Parks & Wildlife to manage Pearland's
wetlands, specifically ponds, appropriately. Mr. Froberg noted that Rainbow Trout and
other types of fish have been put into Pearland's ponds. Mr. Froberg believes that the
Natural Resources division is headed in the right direction for growth.
Mr. Froberg went onto to discuss the Parks division. Currently the Parks division helps
with setting up and tearing down special events. Mr. Froberg's vision is to have both the
Parks and Natural Resources divisions work symbiotically with one another. Part of this
will come from moving current staff around, as well as integrating new technology, namely
GIS. Utilizing GIS will allow both divisions to work with each other.
