R2022-018 2022-01-24RESOLUTION NO. R2022-18
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, approving
continued participation in the Criminal Justice Division - General Victim
Assistance Direct Services Grant Program, grant application number
23623-10, in the amount of $121,607.00.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Pearland that the Pearland Police Department Victim Assistance Program continue to be
operated for Fiscal Year 2023 from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, City Council agrees, as referenced in application number 23623-10, to
provide $24,321.00 from in-kind contributions of time and effort of official Pearland Police
Department Crime Victim Liaison personnel, for the said project as required by the Office of the
Governor – Criminal Justice Division, making the total program cost of the project $145,928.00;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council designates Assistant City Manager Ron Fraser as the
grantee’s authorized official and is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate
the grant on behalf of the applicant agency; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal
Justice Division funds, the City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal
Justice Division in full; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS;
Section 1. That the City Council approves submission of the grant application for the
Pearland Police Department Victim Assistance Program to the Office of the Governor, Criminal
Justice Division. Grant Number: 23623-10
