1984-01-19 CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING AND ZONING JOINT PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A CONTINUED JOINT HEARING BY THE PEARLAND CITY COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION HELD ON JANUARY 19, 1984, AT 7:30 P. M. IN THE PEARLAND COMMUNITY CENTER, 3523 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The Hearing was called to order with the following present: Mayor Tom Reid Councilman Dennis Frauenberger Councilman Al Lentz Councilman Terry Gray City Manager Ronald J. Wicker City Attorney Bobby Williams City Secretary Dorothy L. Cook Planning & Zoning Chairman Richard Tetens P & Z Member Hardie Barr P & Z Member Helen Beckman P & Z Member Leroy Savoie Carter Burgess Planner Holly Rosenthal Absent from the Hearing: Councilman/Mayor Pro Tem Charles R. Mack and Councilman James E. Bost, and Planning & Zoning Members: Clyde Starnes, Frank Ravet, and Bill Frascino. 14 SIGNED ATTENDANCE REGISTER PURPOSE OF THE HEARING: CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED AMENDED ZONING ORDINANCE AND PROPOSED ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND. INTRODUCTORY REMARKS BY MAYOR REID: Mayor Reid announced that the next Hearing would be held on January 26, 1984, and that this would be the final Hearing. He asked that submissions be made in writing so that further study could be made of the requests. CITIZEN INPUT: 1. David O'Farrell, Friendswood, Texas, representing the Wheaton College, Owners of Lots 3 through 10 and Lot 13 of the S. W. Narregang Subdivision of the Southwest 320 acres of the lower middle 1/4 of the W.D.C. Hall League, Abstract 70 - Mr. O'Farrell proposed a change from the R-1 to the R-2 zoning from Dixie Farm Road to Mary's Creek consisting of 110 acres and that on the part that would border Mary's Creek we would have R-1 zoning. He stated that a written submission was made on this request. 2. Frances Jamison, Pearland, Texas - Ms. Jamison stated that she felt her property on Highway 518 should be Commercial rather than Residential as proposed. Mayor Reid asked Ms. Jamison to submit in writing her request. i 3. Bert Jamison, Pearland, Texas - Mr. Jamison asked whether or not this new zoning would be permanent. Communication from Wilkins Properties, Inc., dated January 11, 1984. 17. Communication from Nathan C. Morrow, dated January 19, 1984, commenting on Section 19 - Landscape Regulations of the proposed new ordinance. Mayor Reid recessed the Hearing at 8:00 P. M.
