M., IN THE CITY HALL, 2335 N. TEXAS AVENUE, PF.ARLAND, TEXAS. The meeting was called to order with the following present: Mayor Tom Reid Councilmember/Mayor Pro Tem Dennis Frauenberger Councilmember Charles Mack Councilmember James Bost Councilmember Richard Tetens Councilmember Stella Roberts City Manager Ronald J. Wicker City Attorney Luke L. Daniel City Secretary Kay Krouse Code Enforcement Officer Ernesto Buenrostro Planning and Zoning Chairman Leroy Savoie Planning and Zoning Member Clyde Starns Planning and Zoning Member Carlton Baker Planning and Zoning Member Jack Tyler Planning and Zoning Member Al Klosterman Absent from the meeting: Planning and Zoning Members Al Lentz and Bill Teasdale NUMBER OF CITIZENS SIGNING ATTENDANCE REGISTER: 2 The hearing was opened with some prefatory remarks by Mayor Reid and Planning and Zoning Chairman Leroy Savoie. DOCKETED PUBLIC HEARING NO. 1 PURPOSE OF THE HEARING: REQUEST FOR CHANGE IN LAND USE, APPLICATION NO. 3, ANTHONY F. AND VIRGINIA VENTO, OWNERS, FROM CLASSIFICATION RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE DISTRICT (NS) ON 0.390 ACRE TRACT OF LAND BEING A PORTION OF LOT TWO (2) OUT OF A 5.5 ACRE TRACT, PART OF AN ORIGINAL CALLED 27.09 ACRE TRACT IN THE W.D.C. HALL LEAGUE, ABSTRACT 70, BRAZORIA COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID 5.5 ACRE TRACT BEING DESCRIBED IN VOL. 685, PAGE 660, AND SAID 27.09 ACRE TRACT BEING DESCRIBED IN VOL. 64, PAGE 70, BOTH OF DEED RECORDS, BRAZORIA COUNTY, TEXAS. (2300 BLOCK OF E. BROADWAY) PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST: Mr. Anthony Vento explained he was the owner of the 0.39 acre tract which adjoins the back of his residential property on Patricia Lane. The property faces F.M. 518 and he would like to build a small office building, much like the surrounding buildings in the area. He will be, he said, in total control of what is being built. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST: No one was present at the hearing to speak against the request. There followed a question and answer period between members of the Council and Planning and Zoning Commission, Mr. Vento and City Staff. Some inquiries were made concerning deed restrictions and the building setback line off F.M. 518. It was mentioned that this lot is less than the originally platted lot.
