PURPOSE OF THE HEARING: APPLICATION NO. 4, ANN SHIVER, AGENT FOR KEITH LOSES, OWNER,
FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE FROM CLASSIFICATION
R-2, MEDIUM DENSITY SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO COMMERCIAL (C) ON THE
FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY TO -WIT:
10.00 ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, AND BEING LOT
NO. FORTY-NINE (49) IN SECTION SIX (6), H.T. & B.
R.R. CO. SURVEY ABSTRACT 544, BRAZORIA COUNTY,
TEXAS AS SHOWN BY THE ALLISON-RICHEY GULF COAST
HOME COMPANY'S SUBDIVISION, PLAT RECORDED IN VOLUME
136, PAGE 500-501, DEED RECORDS OF BRAZORIA COUNTY.

Mayor Reid opened the Hearing with some preparatory remarks, followed by comments
from Planning and Zoning Chairman Leroy Savoie.
NUMBER OF PERSONS SIGNING REGISTER: 5
SPEAKING FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST:
1. Ann Shiver, 3419 E. Broadway, Pearland. Ms. Shiver was representing Keith Losee,
owner. The company desiring this zone change is called Techniques, Inc., specializ-
ing in architectural woodworking. She passed out brochures about the company and
stated she had visited their present facility in Houston and was very impressed with
the production and assembly of their products. She feels the relocation of this
company to Pearland will be a very big asset to the City.
2. Bill Cowan, 123 Cherry Tree, Friendswood, Texas. Mr. Cowan stated he was the
president of Techniques, Inc. and that the two major stockholders reside in Pearland.
They have been in business for 10 years; they do work all over the country; they are
not a big production plant; their speciality is one of a kind items.
3. Glenda Losee, 10322 Cliffwood, Houston, Texas, 77035. Mrs. Losee stated she
feels this company would be very beneficial to the City of Pearland.
PERSONS SPEAKING AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST: None.
