UNDER TEXAS REVISED CIVIL STATUTES, ARTICLE 6252-17, SECTION 2 Mayor Reid read, from the posted agenda, the topic to be discussed in Executive Session. MEETING RETURNED TO OPEN SESSION AT 8:57 P. M. Mayor Reid read the following item which was discussed in Executive Session and signed a certification to the effect: UNDER SUBSECTION (e) LEGAL - Council discussed, with the City Staff and the Developers involved, condemnation on Nasawood Drive. CHAD IN TBE ORDER OF BUSINESS It was moved by Councilmember Smith, seconded by Councilmember Wolff, that Council authorize the City Attorney to prepare the necessary legal documents to proceed with the acquisition of Nasawood Drive in Pearland, Texas. Motion passed 4 to 0. ORDINANCE CE NO. 569, ORDINANCE CEESTA�? T�1� P 5 FM THE REGULATION AND CONTRDL OF PRIVATE ALARM SYSTEMS WITHIN THE CITY Mayor Reid mentioned that Councilmembers Smith and Miller served on a committee along with Staff and the City Attorney to review this proposed ordinance. Chief of Police Garner and City Attorney Talton answered questions from the Council regarding various sections in the proposed ordinance. Mayor Reid advised that this Ordinance could be passed on first reading with changes, if necessary, made before the second reading. Ordinance No. 569 was read in caption by Councilmember Smith. (First Reading) It was moved by Councilmember Smith, seconded by Councilmember Bost, that Ordinance No. 569 be passed and approved on the first of two readings. 236 Said Ordinance No. 569 reads in caption as follows: 1;'N1 1 . • AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PEAR_L,AND, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 20, OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS, BY CREATING ARTICLE II NAMED ALARM SYSTEMS AND SECTIONS 20-20 THROUGH 2O-31; AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR THE REGULATION AND CONTROL OF PRIVATE ALARM SYSTEMS WITHIN THE CITY OF PEARLAND; PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN STANDARDS, PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN PENALTIES; AND PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. Voting "Aye" - Councilmembers Bost, Smith, Wolff and Miller. Voting "No" - None. Motion passed 4 to 0. The meeting adjourned at 9:23 P. M.
