' COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS.
Mayor Reid called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. with the following present:

Purpose of the Meeting:
' Council Action — Resolution No. R2017-124 —A Resolution and Order of the City Council
of the City Of Pearland, Texas, canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the
General Runoff Election held in the City of Pearland, Texas, on June 10, 2017.
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Pearland, Texas, on the 10th day of June,
2017, a General Runoff Election at which the offices to be filled for Mayor, and Member of
Council, Position Number Seven (7) were submitted to a vote of the duly qualified resident
electors of said City.
WHEREAS, at this Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Pearland, on
June 19, 2017, after date of said election, being held for the purpose of canvassing the
returns and declaring the results of the General Runoff Election held on June 10, 2017;
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND,TEXAS;

SECTION I.
That the election described was duly called and notice thereof given in accordance '
with the law; that said election was held in the manner required by law; that due returns of
said election have been made by the proper officers; and it appeared from said returns,
duly and legally made, that there were cast at such election 13,507 valid and legal votes;
and that said election resulted in the following vote totals:

Quentin Wiltz 5,458 40.05%
FOR MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL, POSITION NUMBER SEVEN (7)

Woody Owens 7,782 58.45%
Delia Kassab 5,533 41.55% '
SECTION II.
The City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, hereby officially and affirmatively
Declares that the results as shown above are the real and true results of the election
Held on June 10, 2017, within the City of Pearland, Texas, The candidates elected to
serve as Mayor is Tom Reid and Member of the Council. Position Number Seven (7)
is Woody Owens said parties is hereby declared duly elected to said respective office,
subject to taking of their Oath of Office and Statement of Elected Officers as provided
by the laws of the State of Texas.

' SECTION III.
The following Exhibit "A" (Cumulative Report) & Exhibit "B" (Canvass Report) are attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Councilmember Carbone made the motion, seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Moore to approve
the Resolution No. 2017-124.
Voting "Aye" Councilmembers Carbone, Reed, Moore, Ordeneaux, Little, and Perez.
Voting "No" None.
Motion Passed 6 to 0.
Mayor's issuance of Certificate of Election to Tom Reid Mayor.
Administration of Oath of Office by Judge Letitia Farnie to Tom Reid Mayor.
Mayor's issuance of Certificate of Election to Woody Owens Councilmember Position
Number Seven (7).
' Administration of Oath of Office by Judge K. Randall Hufstetler to Woody Owens
Councilmember Position Number Seven (7).
Council Action — Regarding the Election of a Mayor Pro -Tem.
Mayor Pro -Tem Moore made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Ordeneaux to
appoint Councilmember Reed as Mayor Pro -Tem.
Voting "Aye" Councilmembers Carbone, Reed, Moore, Ordeneaux, Little, Perez, and
Owens.
Voting "No" None.
Motion Passed 7 to 0.
