The Animal Shelter Advisory Cormnittee held a Regular Meeting on Apn15, 2017 at 5:30 PM, m
the City of Pentland, City Hall in Pearland, Texas.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:38 PM.
II. Roll Call: The following members were in attendance at the meeting:

III. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING MINUTES FROM
NOVEMBER 9 2016 MEETING:
Cornmittee Mernber Cindy Rothermel made a motion to approve the minutes. The
motion was seconded by Committee Member Mary Hickling. The motion passed 4-0.
IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS —Tickets for the Wags -to Riches Gala were on sale.
V. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDINGRECOMMENDATIONSFOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 2018 BUDGET
The items that came up for recommendation included the Veterinary Contract, funds for
the Shelter Survey for the Mason Animal Foundation Grant, Apart -time Volunteer
Coordinator, Television upgrades for the Shelter lobby, as well as computers to replace
ADC's.
VI. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION THE PRESENTATION OF THE
ASILOMAR ACCORDS
Ron Fraser made a motion to table furt
her discussion on the Asilomar Accords in the
absence of Dr. Campbell. Shari Coleman seconded. The motion passed 4-0.
VII. STAFF REPORT FROM ANIMAL CONTROL MANAGER"

Committee Member Ron Fraser made a motion to accept the report. Committee Member
Cindy Rothermel seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT:
Committee Member Shari Coleman made a motion to adjourn. The motion was
seconded by Committee Member Hickling and the motion was approved
unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:35 PM.
Managers Notes Animal Advisory
04/05/17
• Increase of positive bats. Normal for this time of year majority in the
schools Jamison
• Hugeopic right now is "Service Animal" vs "Emotional Support Animal".
Looking for a lot of problems in this area.
• Spoke to Highland glen. community over wildlife concerns.
• Would like input from board on starting a "Sponsor a Pet" program.
• Paws in the Park went well Threat of rain kept numbers low
• Adoption event only had 4 animals adopted.
• Training a new hire David Walker he will work 1-10
• Have a shelter attendant position to post.
• Took an opportunity for a chance to work with "Shelter Me Pets"
Volunteer and Mike D help. We were donated equipment and are trying
to figure out a schedule
• Attending Texas Unites for CE hours end of the month, have two officers
going to Animal Control Basic this month. In May will be sending a staff
member to complete their Equine Cruelty with Code 3 and National
Animal Control.
• Working with Turner again this year they are very organized and we are
glad to be asked back.
• Wags to riches Event is coming a long Haley has any info you may need.
