The Animal Shelter Advisory Committee held a Regular Meeting on November 9, 2016 at 5:30
PM, in the City of Pearland, City Hall in Pearland, Texas,
I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:35 PM.
IL Roll Call: The following members were in attendance at the meeting:

Committee Member, Mary Hickling
Committee Member, Cynthia Rothermel
Committee Member, Ron Fraser
III. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING MINUTES FROM AUGUST
10, 2016 MEETING:
Committee Member Shari Coleman made a motion to approve the minutes. The motion
was seconded by Committee Member Mary Ilickling. Upon discussion it was noted that
Jon Branson's name still appeared on the minutes under Roll Call, where Ron Fraser
should be listed.
IV. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE NOMINATION AND
ELECTION OF A COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN.
Committee Member Cindy Rothermel nominated Ron Fraser. Committee Member Mary
Hickling seconded. No other nominations were put forth. The motion passed.) -U, with
Ron Fraser abstaining.
V. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE NOMINATION AND
ELECTION OF A COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN.
Committee Member Ron Fraser nominated Cindy Rothermel. Committee Member Mary
Hickling seconded. No other nominations were put forth. The motion passed 3-0, with
Cindy Rothermel abstaining.
VI. PUBLIC COMMENTS:
No Public comments were made.
VII. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION THE PRESENTATION OF THE
ASILOMAR ACCORDS
Shari Coleman further presented recommendations from the Asilomar Accords regarding
Cats. The main challenges regarding the status of felines were space and indentifying
which animals were treatable. Committee Member Cindy Rothermel made a motion to
accept the recommendations as to felines and to table the recommendations as to canines.
Committee Member Shari Coleman seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0.
VIII. STAFF REPORT FROM ANIMAL CONTROL MANAGER"
Please see attached report.
Committee Member Ron Fraser made a motion to accept the report. Cormnittee Member
Cindy Rothermel seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0.
IX. ADJOURNMENT:
Committee Member I-Iicicling made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded
by Committee Member Coleman and the motion was approved unanimously. The
meeting was adjourned at 6:45 PM.
Managers Notes 11/09/16
• September event saw 23 animals adopted 2 were returned. Re adopted
• 3 positive bats no known human contact usual for this time of year
• Working 2 equine cruelty at this time
• Veterinarian contract working well
• Saw/Re-checked 196 animals. 20.00 an animal complete check. Re -check 12.50
• Using IDEXX 4 will be switching to Witness HW
• Hired a part-time for week -ends fully staffed.
• Working on Next Event along the lines of Home for the holidays.
• Need more foster and week -end volunteers.
• Questions are becoming more frequent from realtors in regards to livestock
• Questions on wildlife trapping are up.
