Call to Order Purpose of Hearing — Public Hearing on the Proposed 2015 Tax Rate for the 2015-2016 Budget. Staff review: Proposed 2015 Tax Rate for the 2015-2016 Budget. City Manager Clay Pearson thanked Council for their diligence and extra time regarding the recommended budget and proposed tax rate. Budget Officer Tara Kilpatrick gave a power point presentation on the Proposed 2015 Tax Rate for the 2015-2016 Budget. She stated City Council voted on a Proposed Tax Rate of $0.7053 per $100 property valuation on August 17, 2015, a reduction of $.0068 cents per $100 property valuation from the current tax rate of $0.7121 per $100 property valuation. The proposed rate exceeds the lower of the effective tax rate or the rollback rate, requiring two public hearings to be held on the proposed tax rate prior to adoption of the tax rate. The Proposed 2016 Tax Rate for Operation and Maintenance (O&M) is $0.2225, the Debt Page 1 of 2 — 9/8/2015 Service is $0.4828 with a total of $0.7053 per $100 property valuation.
