6:30 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE,
PEARLAND, TEXAS.
Mayor Reid called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following present:

NEW BUSINESS:
COUNCIL ACTION — RESOLUTION NO. R2011-121 — A RESOLUTION AND
ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS,
ORDERING THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2011, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FILLING A
VACANCY ON THE CITY COUNCIL, POSITION NUMBER FIVE (5), FOR AN
UNEXPIRED TERM EXPIRING MAY 2013 IN AND FOR THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TEXAS. Mr. Bill Eisen, City Manager.
Councilmember Sherrouse made the motion, seconded by Councilmember
Sherman, to approve Resolution No. R2011-121.
City Manager Bill Eisen stated this is a motion calling a Special Election to be
held on December 3, 2011. The Resolution being considered and attached
materials specify the voting locations for both early voting and for Election Day.
Mayor Reid stated this is a repeat of how the City has conducted the elections for
several years now.
Voting "Aye" Owens, Sherman, Thompson, Harris and Sherrouse.
Voting "No" None.
Motion Passed 5 to 0.

COUNCIL ACTION - RESOLUTION NO. R2011-120 - A RESOLUTION OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO ENTER INTO AN ELECTION
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BRAZORIA COUNTY. Mr. Bill Eisen, City
Manager.
Mayor -Pro Tem Thompson made the motion, seconded by Councilmember
Owens, to approve Resolution No. R2011-120.
City Manager Bill Eisen stated this is a proposed agreement to conduct the
December 3, 2011, Special Election with Brazoria County. The specific terms
are similar to those the City recently had with the County for the May 14, 2011,
Election. The estimated cost is approximately $10,800.00.
Voting "Aye" Sherrouse. Harris, Thompson, Sherman and Owens
Voting "No" None.
Motion Passed 5 to 0.
