2006-06-05 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON JUNE 5, 2006, AT 7:00 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. Mayor Reid called the meeting to order at 10:25 p.m. with the following present: Mayor Tom Reid Councilmember Kevin Cole Councilmember Helen Beckman Councilmember Felicia Kyle Councilmember Steve Saboe City Manager Bill Eisen City Attorney Darrin Coker City Secretary Young Lorfing Absent: Mayor Pro -Tem Richard Tetens Others in attendance: Public Works Director Danny Cameron; Assistant City Manager Nick Finan; Assistant City Manager Mike Hodge; Interim Project Director Jennifer Phan; and Executive Director of Economic Development Fred Welch; NEW BUSINESS OTHER BUSINESS: Council adjourned into Executive Session under Texas Government Code at 10:26 p.m. to discuss the following: EXECUTIVE SESSION UNDER TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE 1. SECTION 551.072 — REAL 'PROPERTY: DISCUSSION REGARDING THE SALE, LEASE, PURCHASE, OR EXCHANGE OF REAL PROPERTY. Mr. Bill Eisen, City Manager. 2. SECTION 551.087 — CONSULTATION WITH CITY ATTORNEY — REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEGOTIATIONS. Mr. Bill Eisen, City Manager. NEW BUSINESS (CONTINUED): Council returned from Executive Session at 11:18 p.m. COUNCIL ACTION — REGARDING THE SALE, LEASE, PURCHASE, OR EXCHANGE OF REAL PROPERTY. City Council. Page 1 of 2 — 6/5/2006 Councilmember Cole made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Saboe, to authorize Staff to proceed with the acquisition of property as discussed in Executive Session subject to resolving any discrepancies regarding the title. Voting "Aye" Councilmembers Saboe, Beckman, Kyle, and Cole. Voting "No" None. Motion Passed 4 to 0, with Councilmember Tetens absent. COUNCIL ACTION — REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEGOTIATIONS.
