2002-09-17 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES�-- MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2002, AT 6:00 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. R2002-147 - A RESOLUTION AND ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2002. Mr. Darrin Coker, City Attorney. Councilmember Tetens made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Marcott, to approve Resolution No. R2002-147. PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENTS AMENDING SECTION 4.07 AMENDING SECTION 10.07 AMENDMENT NO. 1 FOR AGAINST AMENDMENT NO. 2 FOR AGAINST Page 1 of 2 - 9/17/2002 1,336 89.97% 149 10.03% 1,485 100.00 % 1,399 92.16% 119 7.84% 1,518 100.00% 017 U18 AMENDING SECTION 10.15 AMENDMENT NO. 3 FOR 1,138 75.07% AGAINST 378 24.93% 1,516 100.00% LOCAL OPTION ELECTION TO LEGALIZE The legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants FOR 1,219 72.47% by food and beverage certificate holders only. AGAINST 463 27.53% 1,682 100.00% City Manager, Bill Eisen, reported that change in the law regarding the legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders only will take effect immediately. Any business interested in this type of permit will be able to apply through the Texas Alcohol Beverages Commission. Voting "Aye" Councilmembers Tetens, Viktorin, Owens, Marcott, and Seeger.
