2002-06-03 CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON JUNE 3, 2002, AT 6:30 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The meeting was called to order with the following present: Mayor Tom Reid Mayor Pro -Tem Woody Owens Councilmember Richard Tetens Councilmember Larry Marcott Councilmember Klaus Seeger City Manager Bill Eisen City Attorney Darrin Coker City Secretary Young Lorfing Absent: Councilmember Larry Wilkins. Others in attendance: Deputy City Manager Alan Mueller; City Engineer John Hargrove; Parks and Recreation Director Ed Hersh. PURPOSE OF HEARING - TO GATHER PUBLIC COMMENT AND TESTIMONY REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF A SALES AND USE TAX AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND BRAZORIA COUNTY MUNICIPAL DISTRICTS NOS. 21 AND 22. Mr. Darrin Coker, City Attorney. STAFF REVIEW OF THE PROPOSED ADOPTION OF A SALES AND USE TAX AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND BRAZORIA COUNTY MUNICIPAL DISTRICTS NOS. 21 AND 22. City Attorney, Darrin Coker, stated he Will be brief and not duplicate any'of his comments from the previous public hearing. The City is required to conduct two public hearings on the Sales Tax Agreements as well as the Strategic Partnership Agreements. Both Municipal Utility Districts have adopted these Sales Tax Agreements. In closing, Mr. Coker stated this is the first of two public hearings. The second public hearing will be on Monday, June 10, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. CITIZEN COMMENTS None. Page 1 of 2 - 6/3/2002 081 082 COUNCIL/STAFF DISCUSSION Councilmember Marcott asked if both of these agreements have been agreed to by the Municipal Utility Districts. City Attorney, Darrin Coker, stated that Municipal Utility District Nos. 21 and 22 have agreed and adopted the two agreements.
