MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON JANUARY 8, 2001, AT 6:30 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL
CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS.
The meeting was called to order with the following present:

PURPOSE OF HEARING - PROPOSED ANNEXATION
To consider the proposed annexation of approximately 265 acres generally
located north of Farm Market Road 518 and west of Max Road (County Road 108),
the south line being the north line of City of Pearland Ordinance Number 708, the
west line being the east line of City of Pearland Ordinance Number 881, the north
line being the south line of City of Pearland Ordinance Number 881, and the east line
being the common west right-of-way line of said Max Road and the west line of City
of Pearland Ordinance Number 830.
STAFF REVIEW OF PROPOSED SERVICE PLAN
Manager of Administrative Support, Tobin Maples, stated the City is processing this as an
involuntary request for annexation. It is a request to annex approximately 265 acres along
the west side of Max Road, north of FM 518. In compliance with state law the Staff
established the public hearing process. This is the first public hearing of two public hearings
with the second being advertised for January 22, 2001. The first reading of the ordinance
will be on February 12, and the second and final reading of the ordinance on February 26.
In closing, Mr. Maples stated the traditional service plan will be used for this annexation.

COUNCIUSTAFF DISCUSSION
Interim City Manager, Alan Mueller, stated in accordance with the new state law
requirements, the Staff has mailed individual notices to the record property owners. Those
were mailed out on the time line as specified.
