Meeting commenced at 6:10pm. In Attendance: Gary Shepherd (Chair), Manny Patel (Vice Chair), Margo Green, Teir Allender, Steve Saboe, Kash Bhagwanji, Kim Sinistore — CVB Executive Director, STOA Architects, Inc - Gregg Stephens and guest Donald Hayes. II. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING April 18, 2018 BOARD MEETING MINUTES. Minutes accepted and all approved. III. PUBLIC COMMENTS — none IV. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING RAILROAD DEPOT. STOA Architects, Inc presented the final site plan and cost analysis for the RR Depot project, which resulted in a vote of 6-0 to support building all three phases of the Pearland Railroad Depot project with the recommended allocation of $500,000 in Hotel Occupancy Tax. V. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING FUTURE CVB BUSINESS. No new business VI. Agenda items: • Railroad Depot—STOA Architects provided updated site design and financial information. Requesting Board support of this project to develop a museum within the historic RR Depot. OTHER: • Celebrated National Travel& Tourism week, May 6-12 with a Travel Rally Block Party on Friday, May 4, offering awards, food trucks,musical performances,tourism vendors,strolling entertainment, and live FB feeds partnering with Pearland Chamber's First Friday event • Cultural Arts Grant—FY2019 applications process is open through 8/27. • Office lease renewal-agreement has been approved by Council,signed and finalized by PTC. • Hotel& Restaurant Job Fair—Held June 27 as partnership with Pearland Chamber; 77 applicants visited 16 employers. Marketing: Website page views—Quarterly—53,679(Apr-Jun) l Fiscal YTD(Oct-Jun)—146,303 l FB fans/likes—4,439 (Website Stats: 87.6%new visitors; 64.8%mobile device visitors; 61.4%female audience with high%of ages 35-44) • Native Campaign featured 'birding'and '7 best things to do'articles,which ranked as#1 and#2 sources for Visitpearland web traffic during the quarter followed by the Home page, Events in Pearland and What do Do in Pearland webpages. • Website changes: Pearland Art show content;email capture feature added for downloadable brochures; Pear-Scape& Birding brochures uploaded. • Advertising—Currently running Expedia promotion and blogs for Visit Houston. Culinary Video release and campaign forthcoming. • FAM-Coordinating travel writer visit in August. Sales Development: • Leads& Inquiries—Quarterly room night pick-ups— 1191 pickup rooms, 21 groups I Consumer Inquiries— 11,344; 4 leads sent to hotels during Q3 FY 2018; Approx. 11K total maps distributed during Q3 FY 2018, mainly due to See TX First and AARP inquiries. • Upcoming tournaments/events—Triathlon,Volleyball tournament, reunions, • Product Development:released Birding brochure and Sri Meenakshi Temple self—guided tour brochure. • MeetingMax-implementation for upcoming volleyball tournament(total 387 for 3 nights) and 2019 TAAF Winter Games being set up. If any Board member has an agenda item for future meetings, please let me know two (2)weeks prior to meeting. Next Meeting:October 10,2018 at 6pm Upcoming 2019 Board Meeting TBD.
