MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON JULY 7, 1997, AT 6:30 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL
CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS.
The meeting was called to order with the following present:

Others in attendance: Executive Director P.E.D.C. Glen Erwin; City Engineer John
Hargrove; Planning and Community Development Director Dennis Smith.
PROPOSED ANNEXATION (McHARD RD.)
To consider the proposed annexation of 445 acres, more or less, located in the O.
Pitts Survey, Abstract No. 717, T.C.R.R. Co. Survey, Section 3, Abstract No. 678 and
the S.G. Hayne Survey, Abstract No. 212 of Brazoria County, Texas; read into the
record by Mayor Pro -Tem Beckman.
STAFF REVIEW OF PROPOSED SERVICE PLAN
Project Coordinator, Alan Mueller, discussed the location of the proposed annexation.
He further informed the Council on how we will be serving this area with utilities.
CITIZEN COMMENTS
Linda Perkins, 14014 Michael Lane, addressed Council regarding why this area is
being annexed, and asked what is the cost of connecting on to the water and
wastewater system.
Rick Aerions, 5910 Kelley, Hickory Creek, addressed Council asking when City
services would be available.
COUNCIL/STAFF DISCUSSION
City Manager, Paul Grohman, stated that there are some projects that have started
that may not be in the best interest of the community. Mr. Grohman also stated that
there have been several positive business inquires; and in the future this should be a
nice business and residential area.

Mr. Grohman, gave a summary of when the City services would be available, and the
cost of the current impact fees. He advised that the fees are subject to change and
are currently under consideration, for a fee change.
